A family member was killed on the spot after being attacked by a wild elephant in the Sammanthurai field.
He was attacked by an elephant this afternoon while working in a field in the Pallaru Mayilodai field area under the Sammanthurai police division and died on the spot.
The deceased was a 68-year-old father of two from Samman-thurai Vilinayadi. Samman-thurai police are conducting further investigations into the incident.

உயிர் இழந்தவர் சம்மாந்துறை விளினையடியைச் சேர்ந்த 68வயதுடைய இரண்டு பெண் பிள்ளைகளின் தந்தை ஆவார்.
குறித்த சம்பவம் தொடர்பாக மேலதிக விசாரணைகளை சம்மாந்துறை பொலிஸார் மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.
